Ryan and Caitlin met in March of 2013 at an AA meeting during a conversation with mutual friends. It was a week before they saw each other again at the same meeting. They stood outside talking after the meeting was over for awhile before Caitlin had to get home while Ryan and other people went out to coffee. She told her friend going to coffee that she thought Ryan was cute and asked her to put in a good word! Caitlin worked up the nerve to message him on Facebook that night and get his number. She texted him that she wanted to meet up for coffee that week. They met at Philz in downtown San Jose and have been together ever since!

Ryan surprised Caitlin with their engagement on March 28, 2014, exactly one year after their first date at Philz. He told Caitlin that they were going to go out to dinner to celebrate but first he wanted to stop and see his dad who was in town for the weekend. Caitlin was a tiny bit irritated but knew that family is always first, so she agreed. They headed over to Sonoma Chicken Coop in downtown Campbell. Caitlin started to notice something was off when they got into the restaurant and Ryan knocked over a waiter with a tray full of drinks and didn't stop! He took her upstairs and led her to a big group of people saying "Look! There is my dad." All Caitlin saw was a group of 60 people. Then it hit her; these were all of their family and friends! Everyone cheered as they walked in and Ryan gave a passionate speech about wanting to spend the rest of his life with the woman he loves. He then tried to get down on one knee to propose but Caitlin was already saying yes! It was perfect in every single way.

The wedding ceremony will be held at Bellarmine College Preparatory located at 960 West Hedding Street, San Jose 95126. The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00 pm in the quad area of the school. The school is located in a residential area, however there are neighborhood permit parking restrictions. Please respect these neighbors by parking in the designated parking lot off of West Hedding Street. There will be attendants directing guests to available parking.  Please note that as a school Bellarmine has a strict no smoking policy. All smoking needs to take place off campus and on the sidewalk. Ash trays will be provided.

Directly following the ceremony, there will be a cocktail hour and reception in Liccardo Hall, located directly behind the quad.

The happy couple is heading off to Puerto Rico for their honeymoon! They will be spending 10 days at the Gran Melia Resort near San Juan. During their stay, they plan on zip-lining through the El Yunque Rainforest, hiking, golfing (Ryan will at least), enjoying a day at the spa being pampered, snorkeling in the bioluminescent bay, shopping in San Juan, and, of course, spending a lot of time at the beach. They are very excited to go on this trip and are looking forward to the many days of relaxation and adventure!
